We all know the positive effects that vitamin C has on our immune system but fewer people know that our good old vitamin C works quite the same when applied to our skin.
How can vitamin C work for our face? Well it is quite simple really. Vitamin C is packed with healthy antioxidants, the same ones that strengthen our body’s immune systems and fight off infection and illness. These powerful antioxydants fight free radicals and even fade pigment patches and sunburn damages on our skin. It is actually one of the handful anti-ageing ingredients that has really been scientifically proven.
This, coupled with the fact that this ingredient is not as expensive as some crazy rare lotus flowers that we sometimes see in marketing materials makes me love it even more!
I decided to try the one from Super Facialist by Una Brennan, a high street brand known to achieve the right mix between natural ingredients and more high-performance scientific ones. Facialist specialist Una Brennan collaborated with them for this product.
I loved the fun, bright packaging and the easy pump applicator. The cream contains a high level of vitamin C but also some hyaluronic acid and ferulic acid, another strong antioxidant. I contains an UVA/UVB protector which makes it in theory a perfectly rounded up product. However I must say that I did not find it extremely moisturising. This could maybe work very well on oily skin or for people who likes light formulas but unfortunately not for me who needs a higher level of hydration. At the end, I decided to use it as a serum before my normal moisturising cream and well I can say that yes, used this way, I really liked it. ;)
To reinforce the action of the cream, I started a cure of Vitamin C tabs too.
