I could also have called this post “The Day I got my Hair Analysed with a Macro Camera“. Ever happened to you? It was fun.. and really instructive. Let me explain…
The other weekend, we went to Bormio, a small romantic town here in Italy famous for its ski resort… and spas! The spas (one of which dates back from the first century B.C.!) were amazing. You could immerse in hot thermal water in different baths and pools situated on a big sunny garden (with gorgeous views over the Italian Alps!) or try things like a natural steam sauna in a cave inside. Sorry I hope you won’t find this ‘bad taste’.. but I thought I should report this important fashion news.. which made me laugh so much: a Japanese company (Seiren) created underwear.. which neutralise.. hum how shall I put it “unwelcomed odours“!! The underwear are indeed manufactured with niff-absorbing ceramic particles in the material fibres which apparently work wonder!
The company’s range has now expanded to 22 items, including socks that prevent feet from smelling and tee-shirts that mask the whiff of sweaty armpits.
A spokesman of the company commented: “At first we thought about selling them to those who require nursing care and to hospitals. But to our surprise, lots of ordinary people, like businessmen who are in positions that require them to see people on a daily basis, bought them”
Ah ah ah.. only in Japan! Happy Friday ;)
Good evening ladies! How are you? Have you started to follow the Haute Couture Shows in Paris this week? If so, what do you think? I personally got very excited over many pieces, accessories or make up details already, let alone the news of Galliano coming back.. (oh my..). But anyway, full report on these Haute Couture Shows (and the just as interesting Street Style Looks) very soon on the blog don’t worry!
In the meantime, I thought I’d share with you the name of Continue reading
Hi girls! Today I want to share with you quickly a collection of some
silly funny accessories which I collected over the years for my phone or bag.. this must be my Japanese side but they really make me laugh..
Big day today: I still fit into (or at least managed to enter into and zipped up) the jeans I was wearing when I was 15 years old!! 17 years later. Ok it is (extremely stretchable (obviously)) but still. I only have one word: Champagne! ;)
Exciting news! The other day, my friend Ilaria and I went to the Tv studio of La3, a Tv channel here in Italy, to appear on their talent show! I was only appearing as a “model” for Ilaria who was showing off her incredible talent and skills as a make up artist. Our appearance in itself is very short.. we just had a few minutes to show off how to realise an evening make up.. Here are all the pictures (and details) of how everything went! Continue reading
Let me introduce you to the two new loves of my life (at least till next week): my Indian dream-catcher necklace and this new nail polish colour, a “marshmallow” pink.
Today: second part of my little shopping and food extravaganza in Paris last weekend!
First of all, as you can all witness on the picture above, my shopping was extremely minimalistic that day (however, as you ladies all very well know, “the smaller the shopping bag, the more dangerous..“).
On that second day, I headed up straight to Le Bon Marche, an iconic Parisian shop dating back from 1838! (Point to note: department stores are usually closed in Paris on Sundays except before Christmas and this year for the Sales).
I am back from my little shopping and food spree in Paris (sorry but I had no internet connection over there) and so today, without further delay, I want to share with you pics of my weekend.. as well as a little personal guide of my favourite addresses in Paris!
The Galleries Lafayette is one of the most beautiful shops in the world. Going there is like mixing shopping and sightseeing (i.e. your argument to your boyfriend). If you need more points to argue, point out that the Art Nouveau dome and steel staircases actually date back from 1912 and are true masterpieces of this god-so-famous Belle Epoque of Paris and that not seeing it would be like missing the Eiffel Tower (which you can see even better from far!). Just do not mention that there are something like 7 floors (plus a basement full of shoes sales at the moment).
“Follow the sales where they are” has always been a big inspirational mantra in my life ;).. so this weekend, I am off to Paris as Paris sales started just this Wednesday. Hopefully the (chic) Parisians will have leave me a few bits.. Let’s see. And, I know: too bad for the hot men models who are going to invade Milan just tomorrow (Milan Men Fashion Week is from 12-15 January). I’ll (try to) catch up with them on Monday! I had my eye on the Versace show in particular (for obvious reasons)..
Need a little helper to remind you to stick to these new years resolutions I know you all religiously made (or just a new excuse to explain to your boyfriend that no, January is not a shopping detox month and that yes.. right after Christmas, there is still a little something for you to shop (am talking in addition to the sales and pre-S/S collections of course?!)?
Here is my jewellery crush this week: a collection of spirited jewellery with empowering and inspiring messages to remind us maybe of our secret goals or just simply remind us to spread positive energy and good karma around us during our days. Joke apart, I once gave a similar one to a friend of mine after a tough breakup. She wore it every single day till she met her new boyfriend.. and even after as her secret good luck grigri (that is French for “charm”).
Wishing you love, peace and happiness…
Collection from French Designer La Mome Bijou
I started to tell you yesterday about skin detox with the new skin cleansing routine I started to follow for my face this month. Today I want to present some body products for those of you who want to extend their skin detox to their whole body, not just their face.
Just a little recap, a skin detox is about using all organics, chemicals-parabens-artificial fragrances free products to cleanse your skin from all the not-so-cool stuffs it usually absorbs the rest of the year with our usual products. Continue reading
At the beginning of the year, we often think about dieting or even detoxing to clean our body from all the excess food and drinking that we all indulge in over the holidays. Yet, we less rarely think about detoxing or cleansing our skin. Yet, our skin too needs a break at least from time to time from all the chemicals, parabens, petro-chemicals, artificial colours and synthetic fragrances that it absorbes the rest of the year. Thanks for us, a skin detox is way easier than a body detox. ;) Continue reading
