Which Fashionista did not dream of becoming a Stylist one day? At the same time, while this profession of course always appealed to me (this means free clothes and bags right? ;), I always sort of wonder what does a Stylist really do… put clothes and accessories together? Pfff.. how difficult could this be? Don’t we all do it everyday, some of us in less than 5 mn?
Well, the other day, Italian Designer Paola Frani and her team had the great idea to arrange a day for us to come play the Stylist at her Showroom in Milan with all the clothes and accessories she designed for her new Spring / Summer Collection. Everything was there: 2 gorgeous models, a professional photographer, a shooting set, the whole Spring / Summer Collection.. all waiting for us me to “make it happen”: mix all the pieces up to create my own (stunning) looks. Hum.. easy I said?? One of the most stressful day of my life lately you mean!
First thing first: you were given 10 “Taste Me” tickets.. which you needed to place around the clothes or accessories which you wanted to select. Everything was then put on a portable hanger and brought to the shooting set and models.
All accessories were gorgeous so choosing between them was really hard..
Fyi: The Inspiration Boards for the Collection.. or how to see fashion thoughts in process. Impressive.
And eventually.. here are the two Looks I styled. I wanted them to be all about “Urban Summer Chic”, i.e. sexy but chic outfits to wear in the City during next year hot summer days. Do you like them?
To finish the day, Mrs Paola Frani herself (who btw speaks a perfect and fabulous French) signed me a drawing of one of my styles. Aahhh what a day!
