One of the fashion brand I like to follow is Milly, a very cool and trendy NYC brand whose fashion DNA can be sum up as “sophisticated Upper East Side meets cool Downtown“.
Set up in 2001 by Michelle Smith (an audacious kick-ass self-made woman, whose success story you can read here), the brand rapidly became a worldwide success selling at top shops such as Bergdorf Goodman, Harrods and Takashymaga and her fans include Gwyneth Paltrow, Beyonce and Kate Middleton. And since I discovered it, me. ;)
This year, during the November Press Days (more on this tomorrow), I got a great news: Milly is adding a Resort Collection to her Fashion House. And in true Milly style.. what was the inspiration for this line? Funky Nassau, a funny, funky decale song from the 60s! Ever listen to it? You’ll immediately want to start dancing.. and it is funny to see how her collection, full of bold, funny, funky, 60s accents, reflects upbeat vibe of the song! ;)
The other chic and fun ‘detail’? Stylish moms will now be able to coordinate their looks with their daughter with the new Milly Minis line (whose pieces are coordinated with the adult collection). Insider tip: Michelle Smith’s own daughter modelled for the LookBook.. watch it out below!
