Ladies, if your dream is to work for Vogue and you live in London, there is a good news: Condé Nast (aka Vogue’s publisher, among many other very fashion & trendy magazines..) is about to open a College of Fashion and Design!
The college will open next year and the principal will be Susie Forbes, currently Editor of Easy Living and previously Deputy Editor of British Vogue for 5 years. When asked if she envisaged hiring graduates from the College onto their magazine around the world, the answer was… “Absolutely!”
The College is currently offering both a full 1 year-long Vogue Fashion Foundation Course and a short 10 weeks Vogue Fashion Certificate Course but they also plan on introducing furtherShort Evening and Weekends Courses, a House & Garden Course (both at Certificate and Foundation Diploma level) as well as developing courses in Fashion Photography and Interior Design.
The curriculum for the Fashion Course will cover a wide spectrum of the fashion world: The international fashion calendar, Key fashion designers: their style & impact, The language of fashion ~ Fashion Journalism – print and digital, PR and marketing ~ Styling and Art direction, The beauty and hair industries, Brand Marketing – luxury to high street, Retail – from the atelier to online and Fashion business – how it all works.
