Great news: Fashion Week is not just for celebrities and VIPs! Next to the usual glamourous VIP only shows and events, there are many other attractions opened to the public offering ‘fashion addicted’ the opportunity to taste a little bit the thrill of the fashion week experience. Here is a little guide!
First of all, you can take yourself for a VIP Buyer and go check out all the temporary stores which invaded the city a bit everywhere. The mission of these stores is to market the brand to the public and everyone gets in and out of these shops freely.. much less intimidating than having to push the normal doors of these shops! So, just go, check them out and discuss their new collections with the staff!
Then you can take yourself for a model and head to via Mercanti to have your hair and make-up done for free at the Testanera booth (for hair) and the B by Limoni booth (for the make-up) and discuss any ‘inside tips and technique’ with the staff over there. Just one thing: be prepared to queue a little bit..
In addition to doing your hair, an artist also ‘cuts’ your portrait in the Testanera Hair Box! So now.. well you are also sort of a muse ;)
Lastly, you can play the VIP fashion editor and go attend a fashion show at the Milan Design Week Booth on Piazza Liberty. They have several fashion shows, all, again, open to the public. For a program of the various shows, go there.
You will receive a teaser explaining the philosophy of the collection/designer you are about to see as well as leaflet presenting you the new products of their sponsors. I love the space on the sponsors’ leaflet left for you to take notes.. like a real little fashion editor I told you!
So… not too bad no?
Tu peux le dire, vraiment sympa même

Absolutely great actually! I think this is only a Milan FW though, when I went to Paris FW in March and I didn’t see any temporary stores or heard of such events as these… either I didn’t know about them (in which case it’s really sad!) or they really don’t exist :))
Really amazin to see how fashion week takes the city as a storm. Here it FW has become a three days venue with shoes that luckily if you spend hours making a line you might be able to see a show… of brand that are on the shoping mall!!!!!!!!??? Insane, i mean we should feature designers and no massive brands, but well, i´m stucked with that here in Argentina. Hopeffully one day i´ll go to Milan and can use your advices ;)
xx
Ca doit être sympa de pourvoir y assister je pense qu’il doit y avoir ambiance aussi aux alentours. BISES
Your posts are really helpful! I wish I lived in Milan, I would definitely follow your plan!:)
My eye charm is very common in Greece and it is supposed to protect from “bad” or “evil” eye as they say…:D I always wear it, not because I believe it, but just because it is cute!
