Ladies, I promised yesterday to try to take you out clubbing with me in Saint Trop’. The pictures are not the most amazing ones I have ever taken but hopefully you can understand that I was a bit excited and that it was a bit hard to hold on a Reflex and a glass of champagne at the same time.. So anyway, here are the pics I was able to take. But first of all, a few tips of how to go clubbing and what to order..
How to go clubbing? Well this is simple: there is only two types of car (at least this year), shown here above and below. So simple, but pls do not make any mistake: the type above is to be used ONLY for the day (to go to the supermarket (yes people do go to the supermarket in St Trop..) or to go to the beach) and the type below ONLY for the night (otherwise, you will look like a ‘newly rich’ foreigners who do not know the codes). Ok?
All colours are allowed for these models.. but of course it is always better to coordinate it with your dress… Ahaha.. I am just joking, of course this is not mine.. Another option is to park your old (dirty) car somewhere far and then walk.. as if you live just around the corner. ;)
Now, drink wise, as with the cars, there are only two options really: Rose or Champagne but but but, in each case, ALWAYS in big huge sizes. St Trop do not like ‘small’. OK?
Now, if I have to find a potential alternative like with the cars… well – maybe – this would be Ice Champagne.. a beautiful new idea from Moet & Chandon. The idea was to solve the very important problem of the ‘piscine‘ (pool). A piscine is champagne served over ice in a big glass of wine, as opposed to a tiny champagne flute. What… mixing champagne and ice cubes? Yes, you heard me. Apologies for the purists but this is the standard way to drink champagne here. Now, the problem was that the cubes melting down were diluting a little bit the bubbles and hence taste of the champagne.. but thanks to Moet & Chandon who created a special recipe that is made to be served this was, we should not have any more problem this year (not that I ever noticed a real problem before.. but maybe that’s because I drink mine too quickly..).
But anyway, we are only once in a lifetime/year in St Trop, no? So now that you know everything, let’s see how it is inside..
Well.. it looks like big bottles are giving big smiles to people…
Big glasses are served in big pot of flowers (not sure where this idea comes from)..
with big enormous straws.. you must be 2 meters to drink your glass!
The bigger the bottle, the more firework sticks you get (and louder the music).. compare for yourself!
Well that’s it for now. Tomorrow, I’ll take you out shopping in a few of my favorite addresses.
