First Sea Bath of the Year in the Calanques of Marseille

Today I had my first sea bath in the wonderful “Calanques” of Marseille. The Calanques are a UNESCO world heritage site and is, if you want a sort of Mediterranean fjord. To visit them, you can either take an organised boat tour or just hike a bit.. till you find the perfect little hidden beach, wilder and less populated than many other beaches of Marseille. All the way, I was astonished by the colours: contrast of the turquoise and blue water, the white of the stones, and just here and there a bit of green nature.. Here are a few pics.

And here is the little unexpected place we discovered to spend the afternoon..

.. and where we also had an amazing Parillada: un mix of grilled sea food and fishes served with aoili, a local delicacy (sort of mayonnaise prepared with garlic.. very strong and very yummy!).

Marseille is now on my to go to list for sure. Question? Once the boat leaves you there, you can go anywhere, you walk around until you find the area you like?
