I was walking through the lovely gardens of the Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul the other day.. when I came accross the most surreal scene..

It was actually so hot and humid that day that the guard that was guarding the entrance of the palace – and who, like in England is not allowed to move at all – had to count on the help of his colleagues to… freshen up!

Here are more pics of the sumptuous Dolmabahce Palace, which based on 110,000m2, has 285 rooms (including the most lovely conservatory called the ‘Crystal Pavillon’) and a quay extending towards the sea for 600m with two monumental gates. Enjoy!
